How to Apply for a New Connection

The Application Process, Simplified

  • Get Application Form (Annex-I) and Power Supply Contract (Annex-II) – free, in English and Urdu, from any IESCO office or online.
  • Fill the forms and attach your documents (list below).
  • Submit in person or online – you’ll get an acknowledgement receipt and a tracking/case ID.
  • IESCO issues a Demand Notice (by email, post, courier, or downloadable via your tracking ID) for connection charges.
  • Pay online or at a designated bank.
  • Your connection is energized once payment clears – for online/remote applications, you may still need an in-person document verification visit before energization.

Documents You’ll Need

  • Proof of ownership of the premises (note: having an electricity connection doesn’t itself count as ownership proof)
  • A signed affidavit (on Rs. 50 stamp paper) confirming no prior connection existed and no outstanding dues from a previous connection
  • If you’re a tenant: an NOC from your landlord, who also accepts responsibility for your unpaid dues if you default 3 months running
  • Attested CNIC copies (applicant + one witness; landlord’s CNIC too if renting)
  • For companies: incorporation certificate, board resolution authorizing a signatory, and director details with CNICs
  • Approved site/layout plan or civic NOC (relaxed for rural areas)
  • A wiring test report from an authorized electrician or inspector
  • Stone crushing plants specifically need an Environmental Protection Agency NOC plus a dust-protected meter room

What You’ll Pay

  • Actual material cost + 12% store handling charge
  • 8% installation charge
  • 1.5% design vetting charge (only for housing societies, high-rises, or commercial plazas)

You get 30 days to pay your Demand Notice, with a possible 30-day extension if requested at least 3 days before it expires. Once paid in full, no extra charges can be added later even if material costs rise.

Bottom line: Have your ownership proof and CNIC ready before you start – that’s what causes most delays.
